BTS “Permission to Dance on Stage” Concert in Cinema

By Saralyn Elmore

After more than two years since their last live concert, the K-Pop group BTS performed for an audience in Seoul, South Korea, as a part of their “Permission to Dance on Stage” concerts.

The K-Pop group’s concerts held in Seoul came after performances held in Los Angeles near the end of last year. The shows held in Seoul took place over the course of three days: March 10, 12, and 13.

The performances were held in front of an actual audience despite the venue being put under limited capacity due to Covid-19 regulations. Not only was the concert held in person, but the show was streamed online for the first and third days. In addition, the second day of the concert was broadcast to cinemas around the world.

According to Variety, the “Permission to Dance on Stage” concert shown in cinemas brought in $32.6 million at the global box office.

The concert runtime spanned over three hours where they performed various songs from their music catalog.

The group performed their more well-known English songs such as “Butter,” “Dynamite,” and “Permission to Dance.” They also performed the songs “Fire,” “DNA,” “On,” “Fake Love,” and others from their Korean music discography.

The group will be continuing their concert series in Las Vegas on April 8, 9, 15, and 16. Thus far, no more concert dates have been announced.
